All Ferrari F40 units were rolled off the production line in the same shade red.
You can do a quick Google search for Ferrari F40 to see one thing: nearly all Ferrari F40 models are red.
This is not accidental. All Ferrari F40s that were produced in the late 80s and early 90s came in the same shade. These delicious sports cars were made to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Prancing Horse. They all sport the Rosso Corsa color which is Italian for racing red.
However, this doesn’t mean the Ferrari owners, whether they are new or seasoned, can’t choose their color. They can change that, just as the matte gray example in London is shown in the embedded video.
The matte gray shade is a more stale version of the F40’s original color, and it looks a lot less casual than the original. This is not for everyone. We are sure that many Italian carmaker fans will not be thrilled to see the change.
This is not a complete repaint of the F40. Yiannimize actually did the full aftermarket wrap. Yiannimize, if that name sounds familiar, is the same guy we see in Carwow’s series drag races with Mat Watson.
We think the owner is free to do whatever he wants with his vehicle, beyond the usual outcry. Nobody can tell the owner what to do as long as it is their money. They say that his car is his rule. This holds true even for rare and special cars like the F40.
You can also watch Yiannimize wrap the entire process in the embedded video.
