Marvel and Hyundai team up to sell the 2022 Tucson.
It is not unusual for automakers to tie-in their advertising campaigns with movie studios. Automakers are keen to get their products on the big screen, and studios are eager for characters to sell products to consumers. This is exactly what’s happening in the latest tie-in between Hyundai & Marvel Studios, as the automaker aims to sell the all new 2022 Tucson.
Marvel Studios stars Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Wanda Maximoff(Elizabeth Olson). The ads will be available on TV, streaming and social media and highlight the new Tucson crossover. These characters are from three Disney+ series. What if is Marvel’s first animated series. They will be joining the campaign in the fall. Marvel Studios developed the ads and produced them in collaboration with Hyundai’s Canvas Worldwide media and INNOCEAN USA advertising agencies.
They will vary in length depending on the airing location. Hyundai can now introduce the crossover to its customers through the collaboration with Marvel Studios. Mindy Hamilton, Senior Vice President of Partnership Marketing at The Walt Disney Company, stated that “We were committed to creating custom content catered to the exact needs of Hyundai.” All three spots were produced and directed by Disney. Hyundai isn’t the first to venture into Marvel Cinematic Universe. The company also created an Iron Man-themed Kona cross-country crossover in 2017. It featured a two-tone, glossy red exterior paint scheme, a wider stance and an Kona model. Hyundai’s new Marvel campaign does not aim to create such a collaboration. Instead, it wants to introduce customers to its radically revised Tucson crossover. The new 2022 model features new exterior and interior looks, the latest tech, and even hybrid powertrains.
