Volkswagen T7 Multivan Teaser: The Nifty Table

You can use the table as a centre console.

Although minivans may not be the most exciting vehicle, they are practical and functional. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is preparing to unveil the all-new T7 in just a few months. A new episode of the teaser video focuses on the multi-function table.

I can see what you are thinking: What do we have to say about an inside-car table? The Multivan’s new table has some tricks up its sleeves. A completely flat floor has been created from the first row of seats to the third row. The track system was developed so that the table can be moved backwards and forwards.

It can also be used as a console in the center for all three rows. To maximize interior space, the fold-out halves and height adjuster can be retracted. To free up space, you can also remove the table entirely if you need to transport longer items.

Volkswagen T7 Multivan Teaser: The Nifty TableVW Commercial Vehicles mentions that headroom has remained the exact same as the T6.1. However, if the optional panoramic roof is added – a first in the Multivan – headroom will be more generous than its predecessor. This is likely due to the T7’s move to the MQB platform. It brings skin-deep changes, better packaging, and a more car-like driving environment.

To increase interior space, the new minivan will be larger than its predecessor. The wheelbase will also be enlarged to make it more spacious. The old-fashioned handbrake lever was replaced with an electronic switch. A tiny shift-bywire DSG control was also installed. This has increased the space between the front seats.

The plug-in hybrid powertrain of the T7-based Multivan/Bulli and some hardware from the Golf Mk8 will be featured when it debuts in June.
