Hyundai and Genesis will make up to 6 car payments for new owners who lose their job.

Hyundai and Genesis respond generously to the Coronavirus.

Due to the uncertainty created by the spread Coronavirus COVID-19 and Genesis will provide up to six months of car payment for owners who have lost their jobs as a result of the economic climate. This support is a welcome silver lining in a difficult situation.

Customers will feel more confident to purchase large quantities of Hyundai or Genesis vehicles during these turbulent times, as they have six months of support from Hyundai. Genesis says that customers who purchased their new Genesis vehicle between March 14, 2020 and April 30, 2020, and financed it or leased it through Genesis Finance, will not experience any involuntary job losses this year. Genesis Finance will delay payments for 90 days for customers who buy a 2019 Genesis G70 and finance it by April 30, 2020.

Hyundai customers have a similar deal: “Hyundai will pay up to six months’ worth of payments to new owners who have lost their jobs and purchased or leased their vehicle from March 14 through April 30, 2020 through Hyundai Capital. Hyundai Capital will finance select new purchases between March 14 and April 30, but Hyundai will defer payments for 90 days if the customer requests.

Hyundai is not afraid to adapt to difficult economic times. Hyundai launched a program in 2009 that allowed owners to return their financed leases or purchases within one year after they lost their jobs. The campaign fostered a lot of trust between Hyundai and the public, while also empowering customers to buy cars in difficult times.

Hyundai has added Genesis to its luxury brand in 2009, and it has also grown its customer base. However, Hyundai still knows how best to assist customers in difficult times. Mark Del Rosso, President and CEO of Genesis Motor North America, said, “In these uncertain circumstances created by the coronavirus, as well as the general anxiety experienced throughout America, it was important to take steps to help our customers and alleviate any potential concerns they might have.”
