BMW Z2 Cancelled. Report

According to a BMW source, a Z2 roadster is “not sensible in these uncertain times.” The Z2 was supposed to be a compact 4-cylinder roadster, which came in below Z4 in BMW’s lineup.

BMW won’t build the Z2.

Imotormag reports that a source from BMW says the car is not in the company’s product plan for the next ten years. The Z2 was supposed to be a compact 4-cylinder roadster, which would have fallen below the Z4 in BMW’s lineup. According to the source, there has been no “inside gossip” regarding a Z2-type vehicle.

According to speculation, the Z4 was becoming a more costly and high-end car. It had a powerful 6-cylinder engine and a much higher price than the previous generation. This meant that there was demand for a smaller BMW 1-series roadster. The BMW source refutes this theory.

According to Imotormag, the source says: “We have a 1-Series convertible. It has a drop-top, rear wheel drive, and is sporty at less than PS20,000. We don’t need to spend a lot of money on a niche car such as the Z2. In these uncertain times, it doesn’t make financial sense.”
