At launch, partial electrification should be possible across the entire range.

The next-generation Land Rover Range Rover will debut later in the year. However, we are also excited about the Range Rover Sport which will be arriving later. New spy photos show that testing for the next-generation Land Rover Range Rover is underway. However, the SUV still wears thick camouflage and cladding, which obscures the design details below.

People looking for a radical redesign need to look elsewhere. The next-gen Sport will see an evolution in design, at least from the outside. The Sport will be more aggressive than the standard model with a bigger rear spoiler and sharper angles for the rear windows. The rear is hidden well. The camouflage cannot hide the modified headlight design and the reshaped grille at the front. It looks more rectangular that the trapezoidal version.

The Range Rover Sport will be the next Range Rover model to adopt the Modular Longitudinal architecture, which can support hybrid powertrains as well as full electrification. The model will be available with partial electrification when it launches. This includes mild-hybrid hybrid and plug-in hybrid technologies. Although a fully electric version will be available a few years later Land Rover have not yet specified a timeline. Land Rover is slowing down in moving to electric vehicles.

The Sport’s interior might be something Land Rover may change. However, we have not seen the next-gen model so we don’t know what will change. The interior may also undergo a minor makeover but will still have the most recent tech and features. The interior of the regular Range Rover will be revealed to us later in the year. It should look very similar. The debut of the next-gen Land Rover Range Rover Sport will not be until the end 2022, before it arrives for the 2023 model year.
