This SUV will get an increase in performance.
The Ford Expedition could be the next product to receive an ST performance. These spy photos capture one during light camouflage testing while driving.
The ST model has a revised front fascia that features a hexagonal mesh pattern in its grille. The lower sections also have narrow, vertical openings at the corners.
The SUV rides on six-spoke, black wheels. They measure 22 inches, according to our spy. They are visible behind red calipers. At this time, powertrain specs remain a mystery. The ST models have received power boosts in the past, so there is no reason to believe this one will be any different. The Expedition’s current model is available with 400 horsepower (298 Kilowatts) or 480 pound-feet (651 Newton-meters) of turbocharged 3.5-liter V6.
The Lincoln Navigator has a 3.5-liter mill that can produce up to 450 horsepower (336 kW) or 510 lbft (692 nm). Ford could easily upgrade the Expedition ST with this tune.
There are likely to be suspension tweaks. Expect small changes to the trim and seat covers inside. Ford has yet to reveal when the Expedition ST will debut. It also doesn’t know if it intends on using the sporty moniker, which could be called something else. This might suggest that the official unveiling of the vehicle could come sooner than expected. Ford has a more rugged Expedition for those who prefer to go off-road over street performance. It is expected that it will be called Timberline. The vehicle gains a skid plate and raised suspension. It also features front tow hooks and other styling changes.
