This SUV is getting some love from the inside and outside.
The Lexus GX looks old by automotive standards. While Lexus has made some improvements to the exterior of the current-gen model, it is still very old compared with its counterparts. The new will be available in 2024 . However, Lexus has given the crossover an unexpected overhaul for 2022. This includes a new instrument panel design as well as a new infotainment display. The SUV will also get the Black Line treatment from Lexus.
The interior has been redesigned to be spacious. Lexus redesigned the IP stack to allow for a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen. The screen, along with the smartphone software, are standard equipment on the entire GX line. They include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa integration. Lexus had to adjust the layout to accommodate the new screen. They moved the vents below the screen and separated it from the tactile controls.
Lexus also announced that 2022 GX will receive the Black Line special edition model. This is the latest addition to the Black Line celebrations that began earlier with the announcement of the RX Black Line offerings. The package includes 18-inch glossy black wheels and unique rear and front bumper valance designs. Inside, the package includes a matte black headliner as well as ash wood. You can choose from Starfire Pearl, Black Onyx or the GX Black Line exclusive Nori Green Pearl.
Although the interior of the 2022 Lexus GX will be redesigned and the Black Line package will be offered for the first-time, the engine is unchanged. The model’s 4.6-liter V6 engine remains unchanged. It produces 301 horsepower (231 Kilowatts) as well as 329 pound-feet (446 Newton meters) of torque. We expect the 2022 Lexus GX to be available later in the year. Pricing information will likely be available closer to the SUV’s release date.
