It’s possible that there is a train with a Miata Horn crying out.

The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a favorite car of tuning companies. We’ve seen many cool cars built on the Japanese roadster. These include the 1930s Alfa Romeo kitcar, the retro-looking Hurtan grand albycin, and the Chevrolet Corvette C2-inspired Mitsuoka rock star. Even if you’re not a professional tuner, there are always ways to make your Miata more enjoyable.

You can see the example of the guy in the video at the top. Although we don’t know the year or generation of Miata he drives, we do know that he somehow managed to swap his stock car’s horn for a train horn. Perhaps a little too powerful for the small car? It could be, but it’s still a good choice if it does its job.

The owner of the car showed footage from his dashcam in a video posted on Reddit. A driver, who appears to be in a brown Subaru Outback, approaches an intersection and makes a right turn before entering the Miata’s lanes. The Subaru driver is alerted by the roadster driver pressing the horn just seconds before a collision. Although it appears that the lifted wagon can turn right on red, it is not allowed to do so. It must stop to look to the left.

Many Reddit users report instances of people turning right at a red light without looking first. It’s easy to fix, but it requires more attention from drivers. Simply stop at the red light and turn your head right to check for incoming traffic. If the traffic is clear, or even if a vehicle is approaching but not far enough to allow you to enter the lane, pull out and accelerate until you reach your cruising speed. The quicker you join traffic, the better.
