It is designed for mobility companies such as taxis or ride-hailing services.
A strange new car will be on the streets of certain cities in the second half 2022. The Mobilize Limo is a new all electric sedan by Renault. It’s intended to be the vehicle of choice for those working in mobility services (think taxis, ride-hailing and private vehicle rentals) and will only be available via a subscription. It’s not available for purchase, which is a shame.
This year’s Munich Motor Show will be the world premiere of the car. However, today’s digital unveiling shows off a stylish and sophisticated vehicle both inside and outside. The sedan measures 183.9inches (4.67m long), which is a little smaller than a standard sedan. It has a 108.3-inch (2.75m) wheelbase, which allows for 11.33inches (288 millimeters). of rear-seat leg room. The flat floor and comfortable seating for three adults plus two USB ports enhance rear-seat comfort. Access to volume control knobs and adjustable air vents for rear passengers is also available.
Although the Limo’s design is geared towards rear-seat passengers only, drivers will not mind being behind the wheel. This space was designed to be ergonomic. The stylish dash has two large screens: one for the instrument panel at 10.25 inches and one for the infotainment system at 12.3. Between the front seats is a refrigerated storage box.
The electric motor in the sedan is “high-performance”, producing 150 horsepower (110 Kilowatts) as well as 162 pound-feet (220 Newton meters) of torque. It can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 9.6 seconds and a top speed at 86 mph (140 km/h). The battery has a 60-kilowatt hour capacity and provides 279 miles (450 km) of range using the WLTP cycle. Fast charging can increase range by 155 miles (250km) in just 40 minutes. This is the average daily mileage of professional drivers.
The Limo has eight airbags, as well as many safety features such blind-spot detection and lane-keeping assistance, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot detection. The Winter Pack adds heated seats and a heated steering column. It features full LEDs, flush doors handles, 17-inch aluminum tires, and Mobilize logos both inside and outside.
The vehicle is a beautiful looking one with a unique business model. However, it will be at least a year before they are on the roads. It will be interesting to see if it succeeds.
