BMW Actually Tricked Us With the M3 and M4 Teasers

Everyone could use a good laugh.

BMW teased everyone with images of the M3, and HTML4 that were rumored to be coming soon. The latest teasers show that both the 3 Series and 4 Series Bimmers performance versions are not hidden, with the exception of shadows which hide most of the new styling.

However, photo-editing wizards would likely reach for their arsenal to digitally reveal the Ms. They hope that Photoshop can remove the shadows. This is exactly what BMW Blog did, except they found something completely unexpected.

BMW Blog friend Artemis discovered that adding a bit of contrast and highlight adjustment to the teaser images of the M3 or M4 will reveal inscriptions. The G80 M3’s rear shows a tiny “Nice Try” above the right taillamp cluster. While the G82 M4 conceals a brief “Nope” next to the updated LED headlights,

This gave us a good laugh. It was telling us that the Bavarian marque is paying close attention to any tricks we gearheads may have.

These Easter Eggs do not change the fact these cars have been previously revealed, however BMW confirms truth to leaked HTML3 rear, and leaked HTML4 front.

In September, the 2021 BMW M3/M4 will be unveiled simultaneously. The automaker will also finish enhancing its performance attributes. While most of the development tests will take place at the Nurburgring circuit, there are some great tunes that can be heard at the Sachsenring circuit.

The cars will be in showrooms at a later time, but recent reports suggest that they will be available at dealers’ beginning of 2021.
