Jeep Compass May Get Mercedes-Benz Diesel Overseas: Exclusive

According to our source, the Compass is being tested with a diesel engine.

Unnamed sources have informed us of plans to make the Jeep Compass diesel. It’s not likely that we’ll be able to drive it or own it in America, even though it is currently being tested in Detroit, Michigan.

According to our source, 14 small Jeep crossovers were equipped with MercedesBenz four cylinder engines from an independent supplier contracted under FCA. These crossovers were converted to test the viability and economic viability of diesel engines for European and Asian markets.

Although we didn’t have any details, we are confident that this diesel engine is the Mercedes-Benz OM654, a 2.0 liter turbo diesel four-cylinder. The OM654 is capable of producing 192 horsepower and 295 lb/ft torque.

This would result in a significant increase in performance and towing capacity for the Compass. It is currently equipped with the 2.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder gas engine. The engine generates 180 horsepower and 175 pounds of torque.

Although the MultiAir 2.4 liter engine isn’t bad, it’s not the best fit for the Compass. The Compass isn’t exactly a performance machine. The Compass is not a performance machine. Its acceleration is also very poor and its 1,000-pound towing capacity is a bit disappointing. The Mazda CX-5, which also comes with a diesel engine option, has a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds.

A healthy dose of torque could be a boon for the Compass, specifically 68% more than the current vehicle. It seems unlikely that we will reap the benefits of this experiment if it fails to meet FCA standards.
