Is this vehicle road legal?
Is there an engine that is too loud in the world of automotive enthusiasts? The context is very important here. There probably won’t be a lot of people who want to hear the low-revving Chevy iron Duke four-pot with an open exhaust. However, the LamborghiniV12 is the automobile equivalent to an all-star benefit concert at Wembley. It’s possible that this Lambo might go to extremes.
This latest Shmee150 video shows that engine sound is the main focus of the discussion. It’s actually the center of the shouting discussion, since the car is a Lamborghini Aventador SV with the Volcano Flametador exhaust from Frequency Intelligent. It’s true, it’s the actual name. The exhaust pipes are incredibly loud and love to fire up revs and downshifts. The adjustable valves allow for noise control but the thing is extremely loud even when they are closed.
The Lambo is part of Instagrammer GeCollector’s stable. But Shmee doesn’t spend much time in the car. The video is an epic slice-of-supercar-life adventure in which the ultra-loud Aventador is actually used as a delivery vehicle. The Lambo’s trunk can accommodate a Tubi exhaust for a Ferrari F40, which is also part of this collection.
Shmee drives the Ferrari while it is being rebuilt. Shmee also has a McLaren Senna chase vehicle along with her. They travel across several stretches of German Autobahn in order to see the F40 disassembled. There are many opportunities to hear the Aventador’s V12 being exercised through the rev range.
Yes, it is very loud. It’s so loud that we are left wondering if it is road legal. Shmee appears almost in pain at times. He even wears a helmet towards the end of the video to reduce noise from garage revving. At one point, he admits that it’s ridiculous, but it’s also so much fun. He also points out that noises like this will soon be the norm for new cars. Although the Lambo naturally aspirated is an old-school supercar with hybrid and electric tech, it’s a supercar that has seen the most progress in supercar technology. The days of V12s that cause earbleeds are long gone.
However, a classic car can still be taken out of the garage to take a trip down memory lane. If you have a Lambo with an unusual exhaust system, consider wearing ear protection before you set off.
