You will need to take a few additional steps when purchasing the Carbon Fiber Track Package.

The 2020 Ford Mustang is very affordable at $26,670 A turbocharged 310-horsepower coupe comes with a six speed manual transmission and sportsy looks. Although it’s difficult to imagine a Shelby GT500 that costs more than six figures, a new Shelby GT500 with the Carbon Fiber Track package and all available options can be had for a stunning $107,000.

This is what we see in the new Speed Phennom video. It shows us behind-the scenes of the most expensive Mustangs ever, as they arrive at dealers. We’ve seen many GT500 photos and videos showing the car in action. But we haven’t had a chance to see a Shelby fully equipped in its pre-delivery wrap. Although the video doesn’t show actual arrival, it shows us how the car would look when it was off the truck. It’s quite dirty for a Mustang that costs $100,000.

It is also somewhat disassembled but not in a terrible way. It is a tedious process to prepare GT500s with the track package. Many of the aero components have not been installed at the factory. For transport purposes, the Shelby’s large front splitter is stored inside the car. This means that the passenger seat must be reclined to fit. There are many parts in the trunk, including additional winglets and an oil separator system. The UPC sticker at the side of the huge spoiler is perhaps the most fascinating – at least for us car geeks. Although we don’t know why it is there, it must be a Shelby thing.

Although the dealership does all the preparation work, curiously the window stickers are still in place for the first drive. It’s possible that it’s an advertising piece to let other motorists know that this Mustang is six-figures. The stickers are likely to be removed prior to the GT500’s first track session. We suspect this is soon.
