Mercedes GLE Coupe Facelift Spied Hiding New Front Bumper Design
A look at a refresh at least 12 months in the future.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe has made its official debut on August 2019,. We are surprised to learn that it is being prepared for a facelift. The coupe-SUV prototype was seen being tested on Stuttgart’s streets by our German spy. It appears that there will be no dramatic visual changes.

A disguise was placed on the front of the test car, which has German registration plates. It seems that the bumper design may be new. The bumper’s lower section has two new air intakes on both sides. It is possible that the headlights conceal a new internal design. Although the shape of the clusters is not new, the LED daytime running lamps that sneak through the camo may get a revision.

Only the taillights are camouflaged at their back. Although there is no guarantee, it seems likely that the LED units will see a new design to better match the front changes. While we don’t rule out any other changes at the rear, it seems Mercedes is only taking one step at this stage of development.

We believe the refresh of the GLE Coupe will be available in 12 months. The GLE Coupe is currently on the market for around two years. We can’t be certain that this prototype shows all the visual changes that are planned for the large luxury coupe-SUV.

It’s too soon to know what will happen beneath the skin, so it’s best to keep this time frame in mind. We doubt that new powertrains will be introduced to the facelift, given the current engine range. A tech update is certain with a new infotainment and safety features.
