The supercar beat its initial estimate of EUR380,000 ($452,820).
This Ferrari 488 Spider “Green Jewel” is a special edition Ferrari presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2016. It was among five special edition Ferraris . It will be auctioned at Ferrari headquarters this weekend in the RM Sotheby’s Leggenda e Passione Sale.
The 488 is the only one of its kind in the world. It has a distinctive exterior and interior finish that is eye-searing, as well as gold wheels and the number 25 on the door panels.
After its Paris debut, the car was seen at numerous events worldwide, including the Shanghai Auto Show and the Finals in 2016. It has only shown delivery mileage and was never owned by the public. Ferrari will offer the 488 directly.
The car’s exterior is a bright green. It is also completely bone stock. It still has the same 3.9-liter V8 engine that produced 660 horsepower (492 megawatts) and allows for a sprint of just 3.0 seconds (0-60 mph/96 km/h) and a top speed at 205 mph (329 km/h). This particular example will cost you a little more than the $272,000 standard 488 Spider. It is expected to sell for between EUR320,000 and EUR380,000 (or $381,330 to $4528,820 depending on where it crosses the block).
The RM Sotheby’s Leggenda e Passione auction will be held Saturday, February 9th 2017 at Ferrari headquarters, Maranello. It will include this 488 Spider as well as a variety of other unique offerings like an 812 Superfast scale model and a Ferrari Daytona Alloy’ barn find.
