Porsche Celebrates Gay Pride with Rainbow-Colored 911s

German automaker joins the fight against discrimination against LGBT+.

Porsche participates in the German gay pride cultural festival, also known as Christopher Street Day. Porsche displays six multicolored Porsche 911 units to show its support for the cause. This is a tradition that occurs every year at the beginning of July.

Porsche was not the only automaker to support Pride events. Bentley wrapped its Continental GT with a rainbow theme to support the first North West of England virtual Pride event. BMW wrapped its 8Series Convertible back in June to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month in America.

Millions of people around the globe campaign for LGBT+ rights during this time of year. Porsche shares this view. The automaker supports diversity and an open-minded lifestyle.

Andreas Haffner is a member of the Executive Board for Human Resources. He stated, “We demand and encourage equal opportunities and want it to be possible for all Porsche employees to contribute just as they are.”

The festival featured six Porsche 911s in colorful colors. However, the flagpole of the automaker was also decorated with a rainbow flag. Porsche Museum employees parked the 911s on the square, while many others joined the virtual Pride Run, which saw them running in bright-colored shirts along their own routes.

Porsche also has an internal position on the issue. The Department for Equal Opportunities and Diversity (MEC), was created three and a half decades ago to ensure equal opportunities for all employees.
