Mercedes is updating the exterior design.
In cold conditions, Mercedes-Benz G-Class is undergoing a refresh. It is covered in camouflage by engineers, despite all indications that it has been updated.
The horizontal slats of the grille indicate that we are seeing the G550 in these photos , rather than the G63 as shown in the previous set of spy shots. Although camouflage conceals a lot of information, the openings at the corners of the front fascia seem larger than the current model. The raised middle section of the hood seems to have disappeared.
The SUV’s side has only minor modifications. The angle of the fender flares is sharper where they bend downward.
The back of the G-Class remains largely unchanged from the previous model. Mercedes may make minor changes to the rear bumper design.
Although there aren’t any spy shots yet of the cabin, we expect it will adopt the most recent version of MBUX infotainment. It may also include the possibility of enlarging screens.
The current G-Class is not very old with a launch of the 2019 model year. The update will not be available by Mercedes until the 2023 model year. In 2021 , the model broke a new sales record.
Mercedes is also expanding its G-Class line. The development of a new 4×4 Squared version is ongoing. The new 4×4 Squared features a higher ride and brand-new suspension components. This SUV is tougher and has a roof rack. A ladder at the back makes it easier to reach the gear up there. A spy shot suggests that there is a light bar at the roof.
Mercedes will launch the electric G-Class in 2024 under the brand EQG. The 107.8-kilowatt hour battery pack from the ECS will be used to power the body-on-frame vehicle. All-wheel drive capability would be provided by a dual-motor powertrain.
