The Halo Warthog vs Twin-Turbo DeLorean is a Very Strange Drag Race

It’s a good idea.

This is the kind of drag race that you will never again see, Folks. We aren’t sure. One of the vehicles isn’t even real. The other is usually seen in a parade of movie vehicles or, if you are lucky, at an automobile show. It will not be as fast as this one unless you happen to see it on the street.

These vehicles are the classic DeLorean as well as the Warthog from . The Warthog, a fictional military-grade offroad assault vehicle, is part of the Halo videogame franchise. Hoonigan built this replica using a modified rock crawler chassis. Everything else was made from scratch, even the red fuel cans that are mounted on the back. It is a massive build and it comes with a twin-turbocharged FordV8 to deliver 1,000 horsepower (746kilowatts ) to the wheels. This isn’t a comic book prop.

The Warthog’s famed competition is not the same. DeLoreans are often seen in Back to The Future attire, but underneath the flux capacitor is a mild-mannered Peugeot 6 engine that produces 130 horsepower (97 kW). The DeLorean’s exterior looks very stocky, but underneath is a twin-turbocharged, 3.3-liter V6 from a Kia Stinger. This engine is connected to a Porsche transaxle. This alone is a great upgrade. However, the engine has been further mated to produce 487 horsepower (363 kW). It is the fastest DeLorean around, according to the video.
The Halo Warthog vs Twin-Turbo DeLorean is a Very Strange Drag Race

It can travel at speeds up to 88 mph and can easily surpass the time-travel threshold. But the larger question is whether it can beat the Warthog. The off-roader has all the advantages of a drag racer, but there is one exception. The DeLorean has twice the power but it weighs in at 6,500 pounds, compared to 2,725. These tires are designed to dig through dirt and not grip pavement.

The DeLorean wins the heads-up race by a wide margin. The Warthog proved that power is useless if it can’t be used. It used its power to mercilessly burn the rear tires for most of the first race. The Warthog was also in two-wheel drive. This was corrected for the second race. For round 2, the Warthog was given a starting line advantage and it defeated the DeLorean easily.

What about the third race? We will just say that it is one of the most close Hoonigan races we have ever seen. With two such iconic machines, it’s easy to see that there are no losers.
