2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 Exhaust Sound Ferocious in New Teaser Videos
Turn up the volume for a Ferrari-esque shriek

Emelia Hartford, YouTube star, is involved in the teaser campaign to promote the 2023 Corvette Z06. We saw her in a video last week of the convertible and its powerful 8,600 rpm redline. She posted some short but sweet (sponsored) videos of her hot ‘Vette on her Instagram account.

One clip shows a camouflaged prototype Z06 in an anechoic chamber. We love the Ferrari-esque soundtrack of the V8’s flat-plane crank as it hits the dyno. It is a refreshing change from the countless silent EVs.

Emelia claims that Chevy spent “numerous hours perfecting” the sound of its high-revving V8 inside the anechoic chamber. The end result is unmatched by any road-going Corvette. Another video shows the Z06 in action while the naturally-aspirated engine hits its highest redline. It sounds amazing!

The track-focused machine will be available in coupe and convertible versions. It is believed to use an adaptation from the powertrain found in the C8.R race car. Expect a 5.5-liter unit with dual overhead camshafts, (DOHC), and approximately 600 horsepower to be channeled to road via a Tremec dual clutch automatic gearbox with magnesium case.

We have seen cars with and without rear wings, which leads us to believe that Chevy is working on several configurations of the Z06 in the same way as Porsche’s 911 GT3 and GT3 touring.

Based on an earlier report, the Z06 will be a temporary range topper in the Corvette hierarchy. It is a speculative speculation that the ZR1 (and a plug-in hybrid) are coming in 2023. The ZR1 and a fully electric derivative are expected in 2024. A flagship Zora will follow in 2025.
