Alpha Tauri F1 Team Drives The Wheel (Cap), Off An Original NSX
We have the photo to prove it.

It was an extraordinary weekend at the U.S. Grand Prix. Record attendance, thrilling F1 races that reached the final lap and a fierce battle between Red Bulls and Mercedes made it a memorable weekend. While Max Verstappen was the star of the show, Alpha Tauri’s colleagues had everyone’s attention before the race in a completely different car. Yuki Tsunonda, Pierre Gasly, and all four Honda-powered F1 vehicles for the American race participated in a special Acura collaboration. They spent time behind the wheel the most famous creation of the company, the first-generation NSX. We are still waiting for video coverage, but we discovered directly from the source that the car was not cared for. Gasly stated that he had fun with the car, and that he rode the curbs quite hard. He was also surprised at the power.

Both drivers apparently enjoyed the power, as either Gasly nor Tsunoda ripped a wheel cap off the car while doing a hot lap. This piece is still missing from COTA despite all the team’s efforts. Although it is not known where the cap was lost, this circuit offers plenty of places to stress test a car. The Aftermath Funny enough, the incident occurred right before the team took several photos of the car. The naked centerpiece can be seen in all of them if the camera zooms in on the front passenger side. Although the NSX has lost some hardware, it is nice to know that Acura owned the car. The Circuit of the Americas still has some Acura history, at least for the moment.
