It will share its underpinnings and the new Citroen CC4.
The DS4, which was discontinued in 2018, is back. The first spy photos of the hatchback-crossover hybrid mashup appeared in February. A new set of spy photographs shows that work is ongoing on the new model. Although it has been many months since the last photo batch, the test car in the new photos still sports a substantial amount of camouflage, which hides many details of the car’s design.
The DS4 will be riding on a shared platform, which also supports the new Citroen C4 The upcoming Peugeot 308 Which we spotted last week. This is the CMP architecture. It replaces the PF2 platform from the previous-generation model. DS can offer the DS4 with a variety of powertrains including diesel, PHEV and fully electric. They won’t all arrive at once, however. We expect the gasoline and diesel models to be first, followed closely by hybrid and all-electric.
The camouflage does an amazing job of hiding the design. However, there are a few details that we can see. Front features include LED headlights with indicators and daytime running lights. We anticipate that DS will also use LEDs to illuminate the taillights. The overall design of the DS4 should be influenced by the larger DS7. The new DS4’s overall design and dimensions will be the same as its predecessor, according to spy photos. The interior should feel luxurious, with premium materials and lots of technology.
The new DS4 will be revealed by DS at a time that is not yet known. It was first seen back in February during cold-weather testing. The latest photos now show that it is undergoing hot weather testing. We expect the premium DS4 to be available soon after the C4 goes on sale in Europe later this year. We don’t know when DS will reveal it at this time.
