Carlos Sainz Replaces His VW Golf with a Ferrari. See him Customize it

We believe he is getting a Ferrari 812 Competizione.

Carlos Sainz Jr. has just finished his first season of racing for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One Team. He is now eager to purchase one of the Prancing Horse supercars. He visits Maranello headquarters in a video to personalize the interior as part the brand’s Tailor Made personalization programme.

Sainz Jr. will enjoy the Ferrari. When he was 18, his parents gave him a Volkswagen Golf as a gift. The 27-year old F1 driver has kept the car since then, while also racing for McLaren, Toro Rosso and Renault.

It is difficult to see which vehicle Sainz Jr. is buying. The video blurs some parts of the screen. The interior of the model is revealed for a short time in the clip. This comparison shows why we believe the F1 driver is customizing limited-edition 812 Competizione.

Sainz Jr. personalizes the car by adding his 55 racing number. In the video, he says that he isn’t sure which seat he should choose for the car. The driver is unsure if he wants the car to be sporty and aggressive or more elegant.

Ferrari is only 999 examples have been made of the Ferrari812 Competizione coupe, and 599 units for the Competizione Aperta convertible roof-top model. The price is not disclosed by the company. We wonder, however, if Sainz Jr. is eligible for a discount because he raced for the F1 team.

The 6.5-liter V12 engine produces 830 horsepower (619 Kilowatts) as well as 510 pound-feet (692 Newton meters) of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox transmits the power.

Sainz Jr. may be buying the Aperta model. He says in the video that it takes him about one year to receive delivery. The coupe will launch in the first quarter 2022 and the variant with removable roof will be available to customers in the fourth quarter 2022.

After specifying his new Ferrari and taking a test drive in a classic Dino on the Fiorano track, Sainz Jr. heads to Fiorano. He then goes to a nearby restaurant for dessert with some engineers.
