Toyota , Lexus and Lexus unveiled a lineup of all-electric vehicles earlier this week. These vehicles are expected to arrive in the next ten years. The company showed 15 EVs including a two-door sports car and a pickup truck. There may be more that will follow. The Micro Box, an urban runabout that is compact and square, was one of the EVs on display in the back corner. The Micro Box is well-suited for urban environments where low speeds and compact spaces are common. However, the small electric box demonstrated more than just a potential product design. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about either the Micro Box or other models Toyota has revealed. The details were sparsely provided by the automaker, so it’s unlikely that these will be available next year. Toyota intends to launch 30 electric cars by 2030. Both Lexus and Toyota have ambitious goals. Lexus aims to be fully electric in the US and China by 2030. The ultimate goal is to become a global EV brand by 2035.

Toyota will invest $70 billion in its electrification efforts with the aim of achieving 3.5 million worldwide annual battery-powered electric vehicle sales. This is a bold move and one that we will be watching as Toyota prepares to launch the bZ4X. However, many of the products teased this week may change before they go into production.
