You get all the great things about the A1 and a little more ground clearance.
Although knew that it was coming, we had been tentatively calling it the Allroad. Audi’s smallest crossover is now available. The company introduces the A1 Citycarver model and describes it as “the most progressive” model in its A1 lineup. It can be found “in the city and on highways and country roads, as well on slightly rough terrain.”
Based on the A1 Sportback The new high-riding style Hatchback From Ingolstadt, it measures 4.04 meters (13.3 feet) in length and has a lifted suspension with 35mm (2.0 inches), more ground clearance. The suspension height is a little higher than the standard version. It starts at 16 inches and goes up to 18 inches.
Exterior styling features include traditional off-road tweaks like aluminum body cladding, redesigned side sills and wheel arches in contrasting black, and a unique Singleframe radiator grille. This sends strong Q vibes. Audi offers the A1 Citycarver with two options for contrasting roofs in nine colors.
The interior is everything we love about A1’s new cabin. It also includes trim decorations for the center tunnel console, air vents and door cards. New accents will be available in silver-gray, copper, orange, and mint colors. There will be four levels of equipment available: basic, advanced and design selection.
Audi has not revealed details about the powertrains for its high-riding vehicle. The new A4 CityCarver shares its mechanical underpinnings and the A1 Sportback, so it will likely be powered with a 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder turbo engine producing 200 horsepower (147kilowatts). A base three-cylinder unit of 95 horsepower (75kW) is available for the A1 regular, but it’s not known if this will be available for the entry-level crossover.
German automaker A1 will begin selling the A1 Citycarver in Europe starting August 2018. First deliveries are scheduled for fall 2019. Customers from the Old continent can purchase an Edition One model with unique visual touches at market launch. Pricing information is still not available.
