For added visual impact, add a gold stripe.
Koenigsegg’s latest models are the Jesko / Jesko Absolut, and the four-seat Gemera grand touringer. But we can’t forget that the older Regera is still available. Although it was unveiled almost seven years ago, we still love the “Megacar”, as the Swedish brand calls it. This is especially true when the vehicle has some special options, as this one.
Although the production run of 80 cars is small, this particular car is rarer because it features a carbon fiber body and matching wheels made from the same lightweight material. YouTuber spotted it in London, parked in front the five-star Rosewood hotel. The headlight housing is made of carbon fiber, and the side of car has a yellow stripe made with real gold.
Lack of paint reduces the car’s weight by approximately 20 kg (44 pounds) when compared to a regular Regera. The carbon fiber wheels are about 40% lighter than standard alloy sets. This Darth Vader-spec Koenigsegg features a contrast white leather interior. It is hands down the most exciting car we have ever seen.
The engine compartment is stunning. It houses a twin-turbo V8 engine of 5.0-liter capacity producing 1,100 horsepower (820 megawatts). The Regera’s combined output of 1,500 horsepower (1.11MW) and the electric boost is staggering, hence the “megacar”. It weighs just 1,420 kg (3,130 lbs) without fluids.
It can go from 0 to 249 MPH (400 km/h), in just 20 seconds. It took 31.49 second to achieve that velocity, and then came to a complete stop thanks to its large carbon-ceramic brakes. It can reach speeds of 250 mph (402 km/h) electronically, but it is not the fastest Koenigsegg car. This role has already been attributed to the Jesko Absolut which can do 330 mph (531 km/h ).
