There are many factory-backed upgrades to performance and technical support available for the Challenger.
Mopar’s Direct Connection was a performance vehicle that wasn’t limited to Dodge. The revamp focuses on Stellantis’ muscle car division, with Chrysler consisting primarily of minivans and an aging 300 automobile.
Direct Connection offers a variety of factory-backed performance upgrades for Dodge Challenger Hellcatowners. This includes everything, from plug-and play engine tunes to hardware such as high-flow air intakes and differentials. For larger projects, upgrades like cylinder heads and pistons are available. Factory-backed parts that are installed by Dodge Power Broker dealers have a two year warranty and unlimited mileage. The standard warranty does not apply to parts installed on older vehicles.
The special dealerships are also new. The Dodge Power Broker dealer network will have staff who are specially trained in performance for orders and installation. Direct Connection’s new hotline for tech support is available to anyone who likes to do the work themselves. Staffers are ready to answer any questions about parts or installation.
Two “Pre-Stage kits” are among the Challenger upgrades. One is for the SRT Hellcat, the other for the Hellcat Redeye. The kits include a hand-held tuner and a low-temperature thermostat. Additionally, the kit includes a high-flow cleaner that adds five horsepower. Although it sounds like a modest gain, the software upgrade allows future downloads of tunes with more power. This upgrade includes Hellcat Redeye, which boosts the supercharged V8 to 885 horsepower. It also comes with a warranty.
Direct Connection’s main focus right now is the Dodge Challenger, but crate engines can also be purchased. Direct Connection also has parts for many vintage and modern models. This is only the beginning.
Direct Connection will continue its rollout with a line of 200 parts and a network Dodge Power Brokers dealers, who are trained and equipped to assist enthusiasts in taking that performance to the next level,” stated Tim Kuniskis, Dodge CEO. “The opening orders for Direct Connection performance parts during the first quarter 2022 is only the beginning – the lineup and Dodge Power Brokers dealers that offer Direct Connection products will continue to grow over the coming years.”
