Do not weep while watching this drone video.
Earlier in the month, GM’s Bowling Green Kentucky plant and Corvette Museum were both hit by a tornado. More than 120 C8 Corvettes were severely damaged by the destructive force of nature. Chevrolet had to remove all damaged units. We found this video of the Corvettes waiting to be crushed.
YouTube’s uploaded the drone video. The video shows the damage caused by the tornado from a variety of angles. It is a sad sight. Corvette Blogger reported that between 115 and 122 Corvettes were damaged by the tornado.
The tornado also caused a fire at the Corvette factory, which resulted in the destruction of the roof and one of the entrances to the employees. All workers were able to escape safely, but we can’t speak for the factory.
The video’s second half shows repairs that are currently being made to Bowling Green. The automaker appears to have begun repairing the roofs. Clean-up and repairs are expected to continue until 2022.
However, Corvette production will be increased. GM has already halted production. However, the company has yet not to announce how the storm affected the schedule. The Corvette has been fluctuating between the top of the America’s most-sold cars list. Sales of the mid-engine coupe have increased by 95.8 percent in the first nine month of 2021 compared to 2020.
On December 10, 2021, a record-breaking barrage of tornadoes occurred. The tornadoes struck six states and left more than 90 people dead. They also caused billions in property damage. This event will be remembered as one of America’s most deadly weather events.
