A 2016 Touareg TDI Executive is being offered for sale. It has been driven only 36 miles. Although the SUV is fully loaded, it costs $67,699. However, the dealer claims that a discount is possible.

The TDI was discontinued in the USA along with the diesel Golf and Passat. However, it is still available in Europe. In 2018, the Touareg’s third generation was released. It is available with two V6 diesels and a V6 gasoline. The performance R version comes with a plug in hybrid V6. VW sold a V8 TDI Touareg in the Old Continent for a time to be the last passenger car with an eight-cylinder engine.

The torquetastic Touareg shares a twin-turbo, 4.0-liter engine that produces 416 horsepower and 664 lb/ft (900 Nm) respectively. You can run it from 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h), in just 4.9 seconds, and reach a maximum electronically controlled speed of 155 MPH (250 km/h).
