Snow Days: The C8 Corvette Z06 Prototype doesn’t take off

The C8 Z06 can do everything.

Are you looking for an all-weather supercar with a mid-engine engine? The C8 Corvette Z06 might be the right car for you. A test mule was recently seen testing its capabilities on a snowy run earlier this week. The track-oriented supercar can handle snowy roads and is not afraid to take on some snowflakes.

The C8 Corvette takes the practicality of the Corvette and applies it to the mid-engine layout that is synonymous with supercars. The base car is just the beginning, as the C8 Corvette Z06 was revealed recently. We also heard rumors about the E-Ray Hybrid Corvette. This snowy test revealed a strange mix of Z06 and based cars. While the rear of the C8 has the same exhaust system that the base car, the front is adorned with Z06 styling. The exhaust note in the C8 is clear and distinct from the Z06’s flat-plane crank V8. This confuses viewers even more. It is worth noting that the Corvette Z06’s internal combustion engine is among the most powerful ever made.

The Z06’s 5.5-liter V8 engine revs to 8,600rpm. It produces 670 horsepower (623 Newton Meters) and 460 lb/ft (623 Kilowatts). The perfect V8 is mated with the same 8 speed dual-clutch auto transmission as the C8 Corvette, which has been a great transmission on the track and on the road. What about driving your C8 Corvette on snow roads? Would you prefer to keep your Corvette in the garage for winter? It’s wonderful to know that the prototype Corvettes were designed with all-weather performance and owners can enjoy the Corvette no matter what the weather.
