Other Ford products that are in high demand include the Ranger and Explorer. Mustang Mach–E and Lincoln Aviator. These products are manufactured at Ford’s plants in Michigan and Illinois. The production of the F-150 and Ford Transit cargo vans in Michigan and Missouri will also be decreased. This is due to the ongoing global chip crisis, according to the manufacturer. CNBC received a statement from Ford stating that the global semiconductor shortage continues its impact on Ford’s North American plants. “In the background, we have teams that work on maximising production and a commitment to building every vehicle in high demand for our customers with the highest quality.

Ford is not the only automaker facing problems with the chip shortage. The brand had to stop production of the Mustang at Flat Rock, Michigan earlier this year for the exact same reason. The Mustang was re-instated on production lines a few days later. We hope that the situation will remain the same with the new production pause. Ford is not the only automaker having problems with production and launch. Recently, McLaren had the Artura delayed, and Cadillac had to remove functions from some of its crossovers. Due to a shortage of chips, Chevrolet had to discontinue offering heated seats or steering wheels for certain models.
