Opel made a retro-looking electric vehicle last year. It received great feedback from customers and fans, so the German automaker decided to revive the Manta as an production model by the middle this decade. Opel confirmed the information in a press release. Opel also announced that the next generation Insignia would be transformed into an electric car.

The Manta is the first to be revealed. Opel CEO Uwe Hochgeschurtz gives more details in the press release.
“The Opel Manta is a car that will make you feel good. Electric power ensures top-class acceleration. The Manta will be back for pure driving pleasure. We will create a new, fascinating and incredibly spacious interpretation.” According to reports last year, Manta the Reborn will be arriving in 2025. It will look like a four-door coupe-like coupe. The halo model will be Opel’s halo model and will be based upon the STLA Medium of Stellantis. This can support models from the C or D segments.

Unconfirmed information suggests that the Manta could be equipped with a dual-motor electric powertrain capable of producing up to 400 horsepower (294 Kilowatts). This new sports car could be a rival to the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Hyundai Ioniq 5 as well as the Volkswagen ID 4 or their successors. Opel confirmed that the Crossland and Insignia next-generation electric vehicles in a press release. Rumours claim that the former will be transformed into an electric SUV large enough to compete with the new Citroen C5 as well as the Ford Mondeo’s potential successor.
