Many reports indicate that stickers have been damaged on the sides and hood from car washes.
“We have received reports from Maverick customers regarding adhesion to exterior graphics. We are investigating it. This issue can be addressed by your Ford Dealer. The graphics will be replaced under the warranty. ”
The factory-applied decals could have been damaged on the Ford Maverick. Some members of the Maverick Truck Club forums reported decal damage after they were washed with automatic cars. One person also claimed decal damage when he picked up a new Ford Maverick from the dealership.

According to a follow-up post, the damage was caused by a regular car wash visit. This post led to other Maverick owners sharing similar experiences at car washes. The image at the top is from member FX4 Maverick Only a few pieces left of the FX4 sticker are visible on the bed’s back.
Posts from WVX76 and dolbylogic also show damage to FX4 stickers. A new member CGFirstEdition shared a photo from a First Edition that shows damage to its hood stripe. The forum member claimed that the truck was new and had sticker damage. It is therefore speculation. The other forum members aren’t specific about what type of car wash caused the damage. We only know that the “regular mention” from the original thread starter suggested that it was an automatic car wash using brushes.
We have reached out to Ford regarding the matter but no reply was received at time of writing. We will certainly update you if we get a response, but it is worth noting that Ford has closed the order books for all 2022 Maverick models since January 27, due to high demand. The order books for 2023 trucks will open in the summer.
