The Italian bull will have to work hard in expanding the Urus range.
The Lamborghini Urus STX Concept was first shown in 2018. It was a track-focused concept. In 2018, the official debut of the Lamborghini Urus STX Concept became “the first Super SUV” in the world.
Initial reports claimed that the Urus ST-X would make its debut in 2020. However, a report from confirms this schedule. Maurizio Reggiani from Lamborghini’s R&D said that the pumped up Urus would be appearing at the 2020 Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final, which will take place in Misano, Italy, October 31-November 1. Reggiani stated that there will be a demo race in which we’ll show the format.
The Urus ST-X does not get an engine upgrade. This means it keeps the twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8 engine that powers the road-going Urus. It produces 650 horsepower and 627 pound-feet (627 pound-feet of torque) However, it does lose 25% of the weight of the regular Urus, which is 550 kg (1,212 lbs), and brings the curb weight to 1,650kg (3,637 lbs).
The ST-X version has been confirmed. The Urus range will be expanded with a race-bred version, which will compete in its own race.
According to Autoblog, a hybrid version would be another addition to the Urus line-up. It’s more than a hybrid. It’s a plug in hybrid built on the Urus’ current platform. The Urus platform is ready to electrify, and the Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Bentayga, are just two examples of its versatility as a hybrid platform.
The hybrid Urus is still a problem. The challenge now is to distinguish the plug-in hybrid Urus and the other SUVs that fall under Volkswagen’s umbrella from its sister brands.
Reggiani stated that the most important thing was to determine how Lamborghini should use electric energy and how we can differ from other users of this platform.
