It is not surprising that the leather luggage set is so expensive…
McLaren launched a luxurious leather luggage set specifically designed to fit into the load bay of their GT sportscar.
The bespoke set was designed by the company’s McLaren special operations (MSO). It includes a full-size golf bag, weekend bag and cabin bag. You can specify the colors to match the interior options of the $210,000 sports car.
The result is that buyers have the option of choosing from three basic leather colors: Pioneer Black, Luxe Black and Luxe Porcelain. There are also a variety of stitching and pipe colors to match other options. You can also have your bags trimmed in Namaka Blue or Burnished Copper, as well as Veridian Green.
McLaren claims that each piece of luggage fits in a particular place in the car. This will ensure that two people can have what they need for “a variety of lifestyles and sporting activities.”
The garment case, which is the cheapest, costs $2,300. It measures 58.5×56.5×12 cm (23″x22.2″x4.7″) and has a volume of 39.6 Liters (1.39 cu.ft). It can be stacked on top of luggage and not block the view from the rear. The bag also features two exterior pockets, McLaren GT aluminum zips and soft grey lining with the McLaren logo.
The weekend bag costs $2,500 and has a capacity of 31.3 Liters (1.11 cu.ft). It has McLaren zips, grey lining, and comes with a McLaren garment bag. The weekend bag, however, is smaller and offers a 38-degree-styled integrated pocket, a foldable leather handle, carry strap, and two external pockets. McLaren claims this bag is the most versatile of the set. The rear luggage bay can accommodate multiple bags, and the cabin bag can be used in conjunction with it. It can also be stored in the front luggage compartment.
The cabin bag will cost you $3,800, but McLaren states that two 39.6-liter (1.39 cu.ft.) suitcases will fit into the rear luggage compartment. It comes with gray lining and aluminum zips. However, the telescopic handle and document pocket are included as well as an internal pocket.
The $6,800 bag is the most expensive. McLaren claims it can hold a full set, and has four dividers that separate them. There are also several pockets in the front for paraphernalia. It has a handle to allow for short-distance lifting and a rain hood that will keep your clubs dry. There are also integrated security straps.
The United States will begin receiving their first deliveries towards the end 2019.
