GMC Terrain 2022’s Base Trim Drops, Increases the Starting Price

GM is getting rid of the old base models in 2022.

Similar to the 2022 Chevy Emblem , the GMC Terrain will see an increase in its base price for the mid-cycle upgrade. This is the same as the 2022 Chevy Tahoe . Although the starting price is $2,900, we must mention that the company has dropped the current SL base trim.

The 2021 Terrain SLE sells at $26,195 while the base 2022 Terrain SLE starts at $29,095. It is important to remember that the current SLE pricing starts at $29695, meaning that there will be an increase in the price for the model year 2022.

CarsDirect has provided dealer order guides that provide details about pricing. The price drop for the 2022 model-year will be visible across the board. The SLT will see a $600 price reduction, while the Denali, which is the most expensive, will see a $900 price cut.

The pricing of the AT4 trim is not yet known, but it will likely be priced between the SLT or Denali, which retail for $33,095 to $37,795, respectively.

Please note that all prices are inclusive of destination fees

Although the Terrain’s base SL variant might be removed, it may increase in price. However, the Terrain’s affordable pricing is offset by the fact that the SL is not eligible for discounts or incentives.

To lower the prices of GM’s base vehicles, the Equinox L and Terrain SL were added in 2015. These price reductions could make these vehicles more appealing for the 2022 model-year, which leads us to the next question: When will GM begin selling the updated models.
