Mercedes-AMG GTR Speedster is Real and It’s More Rare Than SLR Stirling Moss

Handmade in Germany

We were captivated by a fascinating project a few weeks back on . We saw the first images of an unnamed vehicle that was based on the Mercedes-AMG GT R in April. This car, the first AMG GT R Speedster in the world, is now available for public viewing. It has a unique design and limited production. Yay!

Roland A. Bussink designed the amazing two-seater that you can see in the gallery. He is a private collector and undoubtedly one the most respected when it comes Mercedes and Maybach. The result of his vision was made possible by HWA AG. The so-called Bussink GT R SpeedLegend, ladies and gentlemen.

The idea of an AMG GT-R open-top speedster was inspired by the SLR Stirling Moss’s Formula 1 cars and Mercedes-Benz’s Formula 1 cars. It was created about 1.5 years ago. Although the car is not officially Mercedes-AMG’s product, it does enjoy the blessing of the company due to the close relationship between AMG AG and HWA AG.

It is a huge job to modify the body and structure. The modifications to the body and structure were not limited to removing the soft roof and replacing the windshield. The structural integrity of the vehicle is dependent on many components. The Speedbow, which is a custom Y-shaped Speedbow that runs from the hood up to the headrests, is of vital importance for its aesthetics as well as rigidity. It resembles current F1 cars’ halo.

The modified skin conceals the 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine from the AMG GT R. It can be tuned to 850 horsepower (634 Kilowatts) or 767 pound-feet (1.040 Newton-meters). The vehicle is unmodified and can go from standstill to 60 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.8 seconds. We expect the more powerful variant will be faster by a few tenths.

It looks and sounds incredible, we have to admit. Unfortunately, the only five available examples are not enough for all those who want to buy it. All five of the examples have already been sold.
