It’s quite expensive for a Type R, but it’s much more than a red-badged Civic.
It’s hard to find a FD2 Honda CivicType R that costs more than $100,000 these days, but this model is selling for much more in the UK. It’s not your average red-badged Civic sedan. It’s a Civic Type R Mugen RR – one of only 300 examples made for Japan. Now available on Torque GT.
What’s the special thing about this Honda model? The FD2 Civic Type R Mugen RR has a weight reduction of 2,767 pounds (1.255 kilograms), and a few carbon-fiber upgrades.
Recaro SP-X racing bucket seat and other interior accessories are also exclusive to the Mugen RR. Standard equipment includes a set of 18-inch Mugen 7 spoke wheels and genuine Mugen RR badges.
This Type R Mugen for Sale has a 2.0-liter engine. It produces 237 horsepower (177kilowatts), and 161 poundfeet (218 Newton meters) of torque through special Mugen parts like camshafts and exhaust system. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Although you will find more Mugen RRs for sale than the one that is being sold, it is mostly in storage as it was imported to the UK. It actually has only 32,899 miles (52.946 kilometers). Only 273 mi (440km) were driven on UK roads.
Buyers will receive the original MugenRR owner’s wallet, handbooks, and original Japanese service history records in addition to the car.
What is the price? Torque GT costs around PS89,990 (or about $127,000 at current exchange rates). This is a good price considering the rarity and serialization of 24 of 300 of this model.
