2022 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Facelift Rendering Takes After Spy Shots

In a little over a month, the real deal will be out.

The Cayenne, a rakish SUV with rear doors, is a departure from the Cayman or 911. Although a name change might have been more appropriate for the sleek sports utility vehicle from Zuffenhausen it is a smart business decision.

The Cayenne Coupe is still a fairly new model. It has been around for just over two years, and is now about a month away of getting a makeover. We have seen spy photos of a prototype without any camouflage. Now, the disguise is being pulled off by our friends at Kolesa.

A pair of LED daytime running lamps that double as turn signals are housed in the front bumper. However, the most noticeable change is the slimmer main headlights which have a more angular design. Porsche may also be updating the rear bumper design depending on the trim level.

The 2022 Cayenne Coupe will feature a new high performance trim. The new 631-horsepower Turbo model will be placed between the Turbo S E-Hybrid and the range-topping Turbo S E. This rendering shows a different version. However, it will feature the GTS Coupe’s center-mounted dual exhaust system when equipped with the Lightweight Sport Package.

It will only be available as a coupe, with 626 pound feet (850 Newton-meters) of torque. It will debut along with the refreshed Cayenne Coupe at the end June. There is a good chance that the interior modifications will not be too significant considering how Porsche has been updating both SUVs. With the impending midcycle update, the high-riding Stuttgart models won’t see any major changes and will feel fresh.

What is the Cayenne’s future? The Macan is moving to an all-electric setup for its next generations. This means that its larger brother, the Cayenne, will likely be heading towards an electric setup. Porsche spoke of a Cayenne with no combustion engine over two years ago. So, an EV version of the Macan is more likely to be a question of how than when.
