2022 Kia K9 Interior Revealed with Big Screen and Fingerprint Authentication

The company’s flagship aims to steer you away form Genesis, its in-house competitor.

Customers have a wide range of options when it comes to purchasing a premium sedan from South Korea. Hyundai, the parent company, also has the Grandeur luxury brand. This will be the next generation of the Genesis standalone luxury brand and will reportedly stretch to over 5 meters (nearly 193 inches). There’s also the Kia K9, also known as the US’s defunct K900.

This elegant sedan is still available in the domestic market, where it will be getting a mid-cycle upgrade. After a partial unveiling a few weeks back, Kia’s top-of-the-line sedan is making headlines again with its newly redesigned interior. The previous 12.3-inch infotainment is gone to make way for a 14.5-inch system. This setup has the exact same diagonal as the one found in certain Kia models. Genesis models.

Hyundai and Genesis already have fingerprint authentication systems in place. The KDM-spec K9 will make its debut with this system. It allows for multiple personal profiles and allows for the creation of unique profiles. Once the fingerprint is identified, the car will adjust the climate control settings and the seat position automatically.

The position of the side mirrors can be changed to the pre-programmed place, and the digital instrument cluster can also change to the preferred layout. You can also pay through the infotainment with your fingerprint without the need for a separate card.

The K9 supports over-the-air updates. These will improve the screens and even the head up display. The smartphone app allows owners to remotely start and close their car, as well as view the surrounding area. Kia’s flagship now has a wide range of safety and driver assistance features, including predictive shifting that changes gears based upon information from the radar and cameras.

The local Kia K9 2022 goes on sale on June 3, and starts at $51,000 (converted in South Korean won). It can also be purchased locally for $68,300 for its highest trim level, which includes options.
