Honda unveils a new trim for the CR-V called The Special Edition

It is between the EX and LX trims.

Most automakers are focusing on 2022 models, which is about half way through 2021. Honda has recently added a special edition trim level to its 2021 CR-V lineup. It slots between the LX and EX trims. The new CR-V Special Edition is priced at $27,725 for front-wheel-drive models and $29,195 if you want all-wheel-drive.

The base LX trim costs $26,525. This latest offering includes new tech such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual zone automatic climate control, heated front seat, remote start, push button start, heated mirrors, and remote start. A six-speaker stereo system and black alloy wheels of 17 inches are also included.

The new trim level will not receive the hybrid powertrains that are offered with the CRV EX, EXL, and Touring. The Special Edition trim will be equipped with a 1.5-liter four cylinder engine that produces 190 horsepower (142kW). The continuously variable automatic transmission will provide drive.

It’s not the first time that the Japanese automaker has launched a Special edition trim. Similar packages were previously offered to the Pilot, and Accord. Despite sharing the same name the Accord s special edition package offers additional options. The package includes leather upholstery, an 8.2-inch display, an 8-speaker sound system and sport pedals. It also features 19-inch alloy wheels, a 12-way adjustable driver’s seat, and smartphone compatibility.

The CR-V pack’s $27,725 price tag is not as competitive as its competitors. Similar vehicles are the Hyundai Hyundai Tucson (26,135) and Mazda CX-5 (26,545). Kia Sportage is $25,265, Subaru Forester is $25,845.
