These are stunningly understated.
Collaborations between sneaker and car are not always successful. There have been some pretty impressive ones, such as the Porsche 911 Turbo-inspired pumas and the Mansory lawnmower that was inspired by the Air Jordan XI Jubilee. There are also some oddities, such as the Hummer EV inspired John Geiger pair. We’re still trying to figure out the connection between the shoe and the car.
Puma did it again, and gave the world a sneaker collaboration. This time, it was with Ferrari, the Italian automaker.
The Ferrari ION F sneakers are by Puma. They borrow from the classic features of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and adopt their sleek and elegant design. These sneakers have a sporty, yet elegant look thanks to the SF90 Stradale’s clean lines.
The reflective TPU panel at rear of the shoe is covered by a PU foam. It takes its inspiration from the Italian supercar’s front spoiler. Although the Puma pair is available in black, this shade of red is a Prancing horse signature.
The upper of the shoe features a rich mesh material that provides comfort. A knitted sock construction has been integrated into the upper. This slip-on has a magnetic fit lock buckle as the show lace.
The ION F is part the automaker’s new fashion collection. It is clearly inspired by the “connection of the curves Ferrari cars with the human anatomy highlighting how clothing is linked.”
We expect more Ferrari fashion items to come, but the ION F sneakers from Puma, which are priced at $450, will still be available in select Ferrari and Puma physical shops as well as their respective online stores.
