Maserati Grecale Unofficially Reproduced Based on Prototype Sightings

The sub-Levante crossover is now in place.

Maserati is eager to tease the Grecale SUV, not only via shadowy images or obscure teasers but also by showing the camouflaged prototype out in public every so often. The official photos of wrapped Grecale have been released by the Italian automaker. This gives us a clear view of the sub-Levante crossover.

These sightings have given rise to unofficial renderings. Our friends at Kolesa.ru released their own version of the Grecale, without the blue concealment. You can see it below.

The Grecale is expected take design cues form the larger Maserati Levante. These renderings show them. You can see the ornaments on the front and rear fenders, along with the Maserati trident kink.

The rendering is more relaxed than the Levante’s. It shows the headlamps and grille as well as the bumpers. These look very similar to the prototype. However, we were able to see the MC20-looking headslights.

The Levante cues can still be seen at the rear. However, the softer lines and the more aggressive bumper are more obvious. Four exhaust tips can be found at the rear, just like the spy shots have clearly shown.

The Grecale will be equipped with Maserati’s mild hybrid 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. A hotter variant might get a detuned twin-turbo 3.0-liter Nettuno v6 engine.

We won’t be surprised if Maserati introduces an EV version to the Grecale. This is especially true considering that the Italian marque has already promised EV versions. The conventionally-powered Grecale will be revealed ahead of the zero-emission derivative, likely to happen soon.
