2022 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe Revealed with More Space and Style

There are two more doors, and the design is slightly more coherent.

BMW created a niche for itself with the first 4 Series Gran Coupe in 2014. The GC is somewhere in between the 3 and the larger 5 Series. It appeals to those who want something more luxurious and practical, as well as a unique design.

The company now hopes to achieve the same success with a new model. Today’s BMW 2022 4 Series Gran Coupe is a better version of the original. It also features more features and, perhaps most importantly, that famous kidney grille at the front. The polarizing look is actually quite appealing to us.

The huge kidneys are outlined by a shiny silver trim on the 430i model, and accented with vents on each side of the bumper. The M440i trim is sportier and features a unique mesh design with a Cerium Grey surround. This surround extends to the side mirrors, exhaust, and lower bumper. It’s similar to the M models.

The Gran Coupe’s 430i Gran Coupe comes standard with adaptive LED headlights. Laserlight headlights can be added for an additional cost. Frameless windows are available with chrome surrounds and base 18-inch wheels. The M440i model comes with six 19-inch wheels options. There is also a Shadowline exterior trim which adds black accents to the door frames and a spoiler at the rear.

The new 4 Series Gran Coupe measures 5.9 inches longer than the GC it replaces. It is also one inch wider and 2.1 inches higher. The new Gran Coupe has a slightly improved stance thanks to an additional 1.6 inches in front track and another 0.7 inches at the rear.

Base 430i models come with a turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder. It produces 255 horsepower (190 kilowatts) as well as 295 pound-feet (405 newton meterss). The GC can travel at 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 5.8 seconds. The M440i model features a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 with a 48-volt mild hybrid setup. This combination produces 382 horsepower (285 kW) & 368 lbft (499 Nm) respectively, allowing it to reach 60 in just 4.4 seconds. Both models share the same eight speed automatic transmission.

The M440i model is the only one that offers xDrive all wheel drive. It also features M Sport brakes and an M Sport differential. These features are carried over from the M440i coupe, making this the best option for enthusiasts (unless there is an M4GC).

The interior of the 4 Series GC is almost identical to its two-door sibling. The setup features a central touchscreen of 10.3 inches and a digital cluster with 12.3 inches. These safety systems are also available in the Driving Assistance Professional package and a Parking Assistance package.

The BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is priced at $44,800 plus $995 destination for the base model 430i, while the M440i xDrive starts at $58,000. These prices are lower than the coupe which starts at $45,600, and costs $58,500 for M440i.
