Toyota: Toyota Artist Creates Majestic Mid-Engined Model MR2

The Toyota MR2 concept must be built.

The Supra has returned… or it will when doors open to the Detroit Auto Show next week. It won’t be Toyota’s only two-door sporty model for too long. According to rumors, the company will be producing more sports cars and could revive the Toyota MR2. According to reports, the company could bring back the compact coupe by partnering with Subaru . One artist has his vision of a sleeker, new MR2.

This is Artist Esa Musonen’s vision of a futuristic MRT2. This car has all the characteristics of a sports car, with sharp lines and an aggressive body. It also features a Toyota-friendly fascia. You might be able distinguish the Corolla Hatchback and upcoming Supra if you look closely. There are hints of the outgoing MR2 DNA in the car’s DNA.

Although Mustonen does not reveal what might be under the hood, reports suggest that it could be a hybrid powertrain. Toyota is working on a 2.4-liter engine that will be more powerful for the next-gen 86/BRZ. This new MR2 could theoretically receive a hybridized or detuned version depending on how Toyota places it in the lineup.

Mustonen writes that “I worked with David Ovide to practice working as a modeler.” “But after my internship with Genesis, I learned so many things that it was best to test my new knowledge on my model. So I modeled the second model (which is here).

Unfortunately, the Toyota MR2 concept is only a concept. Toyota has not confirmed the arrival of the coupes, nor given any hint as to what the new MR2 might look like. However, if Toyota is smart, they would be wise to take a cue from Mustonen’s design – it’s stunning.
