You can expect a debut in 2023.
The Audi Q5 has been the most popular model in Audi’s lineup by a large margin. The brand plans to electrify its lineup over the next few years but the next-generation Q5 will still offer combustion engines. These spy shots show the crossover with exhaust tips sticking out the back.
The Q5’s new camouflage wrap hides its styling details. The new Q5 looks slightly larger than the model it replaces, as it is rumored to be riding on the same platform.
Audi A4 Also in development. Due to its shared underpinnings, the new Q5 will likely grow in size relative to the outgoing model. This will improve cabin and cargo space.
Although camouflage is effective at hiding the design, we can still see parts of the front fascia peeking through it. The Q5’s face is more angular with its tall vertical intakes that sit below the high-mounted headlights. This all flanks the grille, lower bumper opening and other features. The crossover appears to be wearing its production units, so it doesn’t seem that the new Q5 will have a split-headlight style.
The rear of the Q5 isn’t very surprising. The crossover has stand-in taillights, which could have a full width element. Lower bumper markings appear to have what looks like auxiliary lights attached. Under the bumper, a pair of small exhaust tips protrude from the bottom.
According to spy photographers, the Q5 will share powertrains with A4. The new crossover will be able to run a variety of diesel and gas engines. However, Audi will electrify these engines into hybrids. The crossover will likely get a Sportback version, just like the current generation model. The all-electric Audi Q5 E-Tron model is also under development.
The interior of the new Q5 will be updated with larger screens and more technology. We will be patiently waiting to hear all details. The new Q5 won’t likely break cover until next year, before it goes on the market for the 2024 model year. We will keep our eyes open for more spy shots over the next few months.
