The GT car will be available later in the year.
A new Maserati GranTurismo is coming. It looks attractive and should have plenty of power, judging by what we’ve seen in camouflaged prototypes. This is notable because Maserati has a track record of appealing designs that is mostly positive. While some people have been critical of certain models, such as the GranTurismo before it, others have not.
The Sketch Monkey has released a new video that addresses these concerns and creates an unofficial rendering of the model. The forthcoming model has been redrawn using spy images and Maserati influences. It features a bolder front end, smaller headlights and an aggressive stance that pushes the wheels forward, filling the arches. It’s an attractive look.
The interesting thing about this rendering is that it doesn’t begin with a GranTurismo spy image. These photos can often be altered to digitally “peel off” the camo wrap. This rendering is based on the MC20. GranTurismo spy pictures are used as a reference, as the supercar’s mid-engine is digitally altered to become a coupe with a 2+2 engine. Although technically it is a fictional rendering, this could still be a preview of Maserati’s new GT machine.
When will all the guesswork become facts? It is likely to happen very soon. GranTurismo was initially supposed to debut in 2021, but it was postponed until 2022. We expect that the top-tier GranTurismo will have the same twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 as the MC20. It makes 621 horsepower (463 kilowatts) when it hits the covers. In 2023, the all-electric Folgore version is expected to follow.
