Porsche announces a partnership agreement with another German company. Rimowa is a worldwide brand known for its hand-carry luggage. It was inspired by the 911, a Porsche icon. This is a great news for both companies. The limited edition Rimowa x Porsche Hand-Carry Case Pepita is a suitcase. The product is inspired by the 911 911 and can fit in a 911. Porsche claims that the hand-carry bag can be fitted into the 911’s trunk from the 996 to the most recent 992 generation. The case will fit in the back seat of an air-cooled Porsche.
The Rimowa x Porsche Hand-Carry Case Pepita is a tribute to 911 design cues. The original 911’s shiny door mirrors, handles and hub caps inspired the glossy handle, locks, as well as the strap holders. The suitcase’s leather strap decorations pay tribute to the leather straps that were used to attach the hoods to the 911’s bodywork.
There’s also the full-sized, gold-plated Porsche crest, which sits perfectly among the Rimowa trademark grooves. This is the same one that can be found on Porsche heritage models such as the 911 Targa 4S Legacy Edition. The Rimowa Pepita, a 911-inspired fabric, has a 30 liter capacity. The fabric inside recreates the Pepita checkered cloth that was used to cover Porsche 911’s seats in its first decade.
The yellow engine compartment labels from the sports car are also mentioned. These labels contained the recommended tire pressure values. The yellow labels on the Rimowa provide instructions for how to use the locks. A bespoke palladium buckle, which is reminiscent of Porsche 911 seat belts, is used to secure it. The Rimowa x Porsche Hand-Carry Case Pepita, as mentioned, is a limited-edition item. Only 911 cases will ever be produced. They will be available from the Porsche Online Store starting April 21, 2022.
