Here’s a video to help you understand your concerns about the upcoming Porsche 911 Hybrid. It lacks the same performance as its ICE counterpart. The 911 Hybrid doesn’t look any different from the standard Carrera. The model retains the bulbous foglights at each end of the front fascia. We don’t think these parts will be included in the production car as they are so out of place. We don’t know if Porsche has design differences between hybrid and ICE versions. Porsche moves the exhaust pipes at the rear to make them more centrally located. The active rear spoiler is still in place.

The Porsche 911 Hybrid’s statements make it clear that the electricly assisted model will be more about power than fuel efficiency. The powertrain does not come as a plug-in. To reduce the weight penalty, the battery is very small. Automaker says some of the technology was adapted from the 919 Hybrid racecar. It is not clear what the combustion part of the 911 Hybrid’s engine powertrain is. It could use the same 3.0-liter flat-six twin-turbo flat-6 engine as the Carrera, but with an electric motor that provides a boost in performance. The ultimate fully electric 911 will eventually come, but it won’t be for many years. Porsche warns that it is unlikely to happen before 2030. In 2025, the next generation of Boxster and Cayman will be available as EVs. The 992 generation model will be refreshed to bring the 911 Hybrid. The updated model is expected to arrive in 2022’s second half.
