The Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, F-Series and Expedition are all affected by the recall.

Ford has issued its third recall for the month. This recall affects over 600,000. Ford Motor Company trucks, SUVs and SUVs. It was issued by the National Highway Traffic Administration due to possibly defective windshield wiper arms. The NHTSA states that stripped wiper arm support splines can cause the blades to become loose, not to work or to detach from your vehicle. This can happen with either the passenger- or driver-side arms. It is possible for the blade to operate slowly or intermittently, which can be dangerous when they are needed. Visibility is crucial, especially when it’s difficult to see. The 2020-2021 Ford F-150, Ford Expedition and 2020-2022 Ford Super Duty are all affected by the recall. The recall affects 653,000 vehicles.

According to the Defect Information Report, Ford technicians noticed the missing or loose alignment keys and the stripped splines. According to Automotive News, Trico Componentes discovered that certain splines were not compatible with the vehicle’s specifications. Ford was first alerted to the issue in February 2020. By February 25, 2022, 257 reports had been submitted about inoperative or detachable windshield wiper arms. Defect Information Report notes that the arms were made “with an alternative higher torque wiper motor due to chip shortage issues”. Ford also built vehicles with different wiper motor torque ratings which could have contributed to the inconsistent performance.news

Two other recalls were issued by Ford earlier this month. They affected more than 700,000 vehicles. The Bronco Sport, Escape and Bronco Sport were affected by the recall. An oil separator housing could leak and crack and increase the chance of a fire. The trailer brake controller was also recalled on the Maverick Expedition, Navigator Navigator, Expedition, Navigator and Super Duty.

Ford will notify affected vehicle owners beginning May 23. FoMoCo will replace both of the front wiper blade arms at local Ford and Lincoln dealers. You might check the weather before you leave if your vehicle has been affected.
